La Belle Dame sans Merci 250 piece puzzle

La Belle Dame sans Merci by Sir Frank Dicksee (1853-1928), oil on canvas,  circa 1901. Given by Mrs Yda Richardson, 1913.

A finely cut wooden jigsaw puzzle featuring unique Wentworth "whimsy" pieces of our much loved painting La Belle Dame sans Merci by Sir Frank Dicksee.

This painting has been a highlight of Bristol Museum & Art Gallery's collection since 1913. The artist Frank Dicksee took inspiration from John Keat's poetry: Blind to the beauties of the countryside around him, a young, doomed knight surrenders himself to La Belle sans Merci (The Beautiful Lady without Mercy).

When it came to deciding which painting to kick start our exclusive range of products based on our own collection it had to be this painting!

You can see this painting on the top floor in gallery 6: Victorian Art (Places of Desire).
