The Great Wave print by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) - one of the best known Japanese artists. During his long career, Hokusai is estimated to have designed more than 30,000 woodblock prints. His series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji Hokusai broke new ground by focusing on landscape as a subject in its own right.
