2024 is the 200th anniversary of the National Gallery, London and to mark it they are sending twelve of their greatest paintings to 12 museums and art galleries in the UK. Canaletto, Vermeer, Velasquez, Botticelli, Turner and more will be on tour to Aberystwyth, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cambridge and Newcastle. The Hay Wain is coming to Bristol, perhaps because of Bristol’s own history of landscape art.

Painted by John Constable and dating back to 1821, The Hay Wain‚ features a site in Suffolk, near Flatford on the River Stour. The hay wain is a type of horse-drawn cart, that can be seen in the water in this painting. The horses pull the cart through the water to get to the other side. To the left, a beautiful cottage covered in greenery watches over the lake, which stands behind Flatford Mill. The cottage and river are still very much the same as they were in this painting in 1821. A very peaceful and relaxing jigsaw puzzle to piece together.

This jigsaw puzzle is housed in a planet-friendly box, made from recyclable materials and compact for less packaging.
