A landscape in warm tones of yellow. At the foreground are two abandoned wooden rowboats. From there the river stretches backwards into an emerald green valley. On each side of the river are pale buildings with landscaped trees.
Samuel Jackson (1794 – 1869) was an English watercolourist and oil painter who has been called the "father" of the Bristol School of art.
