M Shed Souvenir Guide
M Shed’s galleries, housed in a former dockside transit shed, are rich in iconic objects and works of art, documents, photographs, films and personal testimonies. They reveal the place, its people and their daily lives, through stories of industry and invention, of family and factories, of immigration and slavery, and of celebration and hardship.
Outside, its trains, boats and cranes, which are among the last remnants of the working dockside, are considered as much a part of the museum as its galleries. M Shed encourages visitors to go out and explore the living city.
This book highlights just some of those objects and stories that M Shed uses to unlock Bristol and its secrets, and acts as a signpost for further exploration.
