A view from atop the edge of a gorge, with an iron wrought fence running alongside the right hand side. Three people lean over the fence and look out at the view, which is a brand new suspension bridge sitting across the gorge. Two trees in the foreground obscure the view. Along the river below, a steamship sails by.
Samuel Jackson(1794 – 1869) was an English watercolourist and oil painter who has been called the "father" of the Bristol School of art.
