Philip Wilson Steer (1860-1942) was a British painter of landscapes, seascapes plus portraits and figure studies. He was also an influential art teacher.
Framlingham is a charming market town in Suffolk. The water meadows are a haven for fish-eating birds such as herons, great crested grebes and kingfishers. The meadows also support a wide range of wetland flora, including the striking yellow flag iris and the delicate blooms of southern marsh orchids.
