Archibald Thorburn (1860 – 1935) was a renowned British watercolorist and illustrator, celebrated for his highly detailed, naturalistic paintings of British wildlife, particularly game birds and birds of prey.
He is widely considered one of the foremost bird artists of his time, with his work capturing the plumage, texture, and natural behavior of birds with great technical precision.
Albatrosses are the world’s largest flying seabirds and in total there are 22 different species.
Shearwaters are medium-sized long-winged seabirds in the petrel family Procellariidae. They have a global distribution, but are most common in temperate and cold waters.
The Fulmar flies low over the sea on stiff wings, with shallow wingbeats, gliding and turning to show its white underparts then grey upperparts. At its breeding sites, it will fly high up the cliff face, riding the updraughts.
